OUR NURSE PRACTITIONERS MAKE HOME VISITS TO ASSESS AND TREAT YOU IN YOUR HOME!
1. What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse that has advanced education, usually a Masters level degree or higher, that allows them to provide comprehensive healthcare to the general public. Nurse practitioners are autonomous and independent health professionals and provide essential health services grounded in the registered nurse profession’s values, knowledge, theories and practice. NPs perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications and treatments.
2. Who is eligible for this service?
We serve children and adults of all ages in the Edmonton and surrounding area.
3. Do you provide urgent services?
Yes, we strive to provide service in a timely manner however, this is always dependent on the issue at hand. We do not provide emergent services. If you have a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department.
4. How do I pay for the service?
We accept most major credit card, electronic transfers, and cheques.
5. Do you have access to my test results?
Yes, all of our nurse practitioners have access to your test results that are on the Alberta Netcare Portal.
6. Can you prescribe narcotics/controlled substances?
Yes, our nurse practitioners have taken additional training and are licensed to prescribe narcotics and controlled substances in Alberta.
